My wife is a midwife and tells of two approaches that are impressive. Self hypnosis worked very well for one mum, but you need a lot of experience. Aromatherapy is producing good results in the UK and there has been an 8 year study at Brookes. There are two oils recommended for pain relief and one for massaging the perineum. However there are some oils that are not recommended for pregnancy. I’ll pass any queries on to Pam. I have no studies on magnotherapy, but horses seem to like it when in foal.<g> Best wishes John Bain UK TV Sound Director, magnotherapy user & distributor http://members.aol.com/JBainSI/Magnotherapy.html Surround Sound for Television

In Japan there is a folk-medicine technique called "easy birth moxibustion" (anzankyuu), done before labor. I’ve done it a couple of times, and it does seem to help the delivery process. If you’re interested, email me, I might be able to recommend someone to show you the technique. (hari33 at aol dot com) rh "Stop trying to cure them and they’ll get better!" – Kodo Fukushima
